HI HEALTH MEMBERS DONATE £723.53 TO RSABI
When the current governement reduced the VAT from 17.5% to 15%, HI Health staff Karen and Joyce had apanic attack about the amount of administration involved in implementing this, as many HI Health members pay their annual membership by Standing Order.
After some thought and with the agreement of the members, it was decided to leave things as they were and to donate the difference to the RSABI. In many cases this difference was less than the cost of issuing a refund (administration and bank charges) so it is great that we can support such a worthy cause instead.
A cheque for £723.53 was presented to Dr Maurice S Hankey, Chief Executive of the RSABI by HI Health Secretary Karen Tait on behalf of the members at the recent SBCA Beef Fayre in Fife. The donation is from the first two VAT quarters, so another payment will be given in six months.
