HI HEALTH HEIFER TOP PRICE AT DINGWALL 29 APRIL 2009 - FULL REPORT

DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (April, 29th) sold 701 store cattle, 1 breeding bull and 38 OTM cattle.
Bullocks (307) averaged 194.9p and sold to 250p per kg thrice for a pair of 272kg Charolais crosses and a 280kg Charolais cross from Invergordon Mains, Invergordon, and a 220kg Limousin from Drumbuie, Kyle of Lochalsh, and £1,070 gross for a pen of 548kg Limousin crosses from Invertromie, Kingussie.
Heifers (391) averaged 190.2p and sold to 336.6p per kg and £1,700 gross a 505kg British Blue cross from Auchorachan, Glenlivet.
Young bulls (3) averaged 181.8p and sold to 231.9p per kg for a 345kg British Shorthorn from Glen Gloy Farms, Spean Bridge, and £930 gross for a 595kg Limousin from Woodside, Muir of Tarradale.
Breeding bulls (1) sold to £2000 for an 18 month old Simmental from 15 Achnairn, Shinness, Lairg.
OTM prime and feeding cows (22) averaged 114.7p and sold to 129.6p per kg for a 760kg Simmental cross from Little Kildrummie, Nairn, and £995 gross for a 795kg Limousin also from Little Kildrummie.
OTM bulls (3) averaged 95.4p and sold to 155.9p per kg for a 555kg Charolais cross from Kindeace, Alness, and £1,045 gross for an 1100kg Simmental from Bog of Cullicudden, Culbokie.
OTM clean bullocks and heifers (13) averaged 135.4p and sold to 149.3p per kg for a 670kg British Blue cross from Little Kildrummie and £1,085 gross for a 730kg Charolais from Kindeace.
“Quality grazing cattle and breeding heifers in particular several consignments of “Hi-Health” sold at extreme rates whilst strong & fleshy cattle continued at recent high levels.
